Memory Lane

Ya’ll, it’s May already.
I’m about to sound like an old woman saying this but,
where has the time gone?!
For reals, I feel like I just made the decision to return to Rwanda yesterday,
when in reality, I’m leaving in 13 days to live there!
The decisions been made for quite some time folks!
Freaking out just a tad, please excuse.

I went down in the basement today in search of some papers when I ran across a few blast from the past items so since I’m feeling like an old lady today I thought it would be a good time to take a trip down memory lane. Join me would you?

First thing I found:
Please, someone, tell me you remember this book? Let me tell you, the Cooper children loved this book. We would all cuddle up on someone's bed and my Mom would read aloud one story about Mrs. Piggle Wiggle's infamous cures, and if we were extra good that day we would get to read two stories.
Yeah, we had it pretty good.

Some other fun items I ran across:
Translation: Dear Mom, I had a great day at school day! It was great! I missed you. My tummy hurt a lot so can you check my temp? Well got to go. Oh yeah, my hip hurts too when I sit down.
See you, Love Elise
*When I was younger, I would take the thermometer and place it against a lightbulb or my brothers gameboy charger, wait for it to read a high number, and as an extra precaution I would also place something hot on my forehead and cheeks, than I would find my Mom and complain about not feeling well. Nothing was considered too far when trying to get out of going to school.
Translation: This is me and my sister trying to take the car away from me.
My sister is the one in the back.
*She still tries to take things from me, unbelievable.
Translation: This is my house in Texas. My sister is the tall girl.
I'm the one with the bow.
My brother is the boy with the tie.
*Because that detailed of a description was necessary.
*I don't know what I was thinking when I chose some of these words. Possibly "just pick whatever and than you can be done with this" because, frankly, some of these words make no sense, like milk.
Really younger me? Milk? Milk is gross, you don't like milk.
The real give away that you weren't actually picking things that you liked and just trying to complete this assignment, your choice of the word, school
Translation: My mom is cool. On time. Takes time to love God. Happy to be baking.
Everything but boring. Red is her favorite color.
*My Mom is still all these things, except maybe "happy to be baking"
Translation: This is me in kindergarten. I did have sort hair in the back of my head.
I still hate that dress.

*And thus ends the trip down memory lane.*

I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
(Probably not, I'm pretty easily amused)

    1. It really is, being able to see first hand how much you've grown and changed over the years. That's one of the reasons I love blogging so much, it's just like a diary that you can always go back to.
